My Story – The World as My Teacher
My name is Bernhard Lampl, and I am the founder and CEO of Belavie. My passion for travel began at a young age. At just 12 years old, I embarked on my first big adventure, traveling to the USA without my parents. This experience sparked an insatiable curiosity about the world. The sport that had captivated me since the age of five eventually took me to places I had only dreamed of. In recent years, I have visited 61 countries and stayed in nearly 1,000 hotels around the world. Every place, every encounter, and every experience has not only broadened my perspective but also strengthened my belief that travel enriches life, sport ignites passion, and our lifestyle is an expression of our identity.
These trips were far more than just vacations for me. They became my classroom, my source of inspiration, and ultimately the driving force behind my career. Through my travels, I experienced firsthand what true excellence in hospitality means and understood the deep connection between sport and travel. In those moments, the desire grew within me to use this knowledge and experience to help others create unforgettable experiences.
Travel taught me the importance of looking beyond the horizon. Sport showed me what it means to celebrate success through dedication and discipline. I have embedded these values deeply into the philosophy of Belavie, so our clients not only receive services but also unique experiences that remain with them forever. My Professional Journey
My professional journey has been shaped by a solid education and experiences that have influenced my vision for Belavie. I studied Political Science and Economics with a focus on Tourism, knowing from the start that I wanted to combine the worlds of travel and management. After completing my training in Football Management at IST in Düsseldorf, I gained valuable experience as a football manager in the Austrian Football Bundesliga. Later, I worked at the travel agency Eurotours in Kitzbühel and further expanded my knowledge through additional qualifications in Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the USA.
However, my professional path wasn’t purely academic. For over 20 years, I was an active football player and then a coach at the semi-professional level. This time profoundly shaped me and gave me insight into how the world of football truly operates—with all its challenges, dynamics, and relentless energy. These experiences in sport, both on and off the field, significantly influenced my perspective on sports and management, providing me with valuable insights that I now incorporate into my work.
Over the years, I have also built a broad network of experts in the fields of sports, tourism, and hospitality. This valuable expertise is directly shared with our clients to ensure that they benefit from the best strategies and insights.
All of this culminated in a Master’s in Law and two MBAs, with specializations in Football Management and Tourism Management. However, what truly propelled me forward wasn’t just academic knowledge, but the practical experience—meeting people, facing challenges in the hospitality industry, and my passion for sports, which has driven me to consistently strive for excellence.
